Most recently Mark was the Sporting Director for Swansea City where he was responsible for the Football Department. Prior to joining Swansea, he was Director of Football at Rangers FC where he was responsible for the appointment of Steven Gerrard as manager. During his tenure at Rangers, he oversaw the entire football operation and was integral to the building of the squad which managed to secure Rangers place back in European Football, as well as provide the backbone of the squad that secured their 55th title and halted Celtics stranglehold on the Scottish Premier league.
In the 9 years preceding his move to Rangers, he was the Academy Director for Manchester City where he was responsible for the football development and business operation for all age ranges 9-23. During this period he oversaw the development of players such as Phil Foden and Jadon Sancho and many others who are now playing in the English premier League and Championship.
For 13 years prior to joining Manchester City, Mark was Managing Director and Executive Vice President of the Broadcast Division for the music Channel M.T.V and also Managing Director of Deluxe Digital where he oversaw the transition of 35mm film into the digital technology space.
Mark left Swindon Town football club as a young player in the early 80’s and took the offer of a US Scholarship in 1982; he graduated with a BSc (hons) in Business and Accountancy.
As well as his BSc, Mark holds a Masters Degree (distinction) in Sports Directorship. He is also the holder of a current UEFA ‘A’ license coaching badge and is married with twin daughters.
