Before ecap, Dermot co-founded Arvensis Search, a purpose-led talent advisory practice in the EU & APAC, focused on executive recruitment in climate technology. His work there enabled climate-tech firms scale rapidly by connecting them with critical leadership talent.

Dermot is committed to supporting leaders in the age of poly-crisis and rapid change. Over the last four years, he has witnessed first hand the emotions experienced by board and C-suite leaders as their commitment to sustainable practices is challenged by society and shareholders.

He has worked in the Middle East for over 12 years in Oman, the UAE, and six years in Saudi Arabia with Aramco, the world’s largest energy company. At Aramco, he provided executive search services to SVPs in building their senior leadership teams. During his search career, his clients included global giants like 3M, Apple, BP, Microsoft, and Pfizer.

Dermot has deep expertise in climate and high technology sectors, enabling corporate clients to pivot into the sector and helping start-ups prepare for IPOs. His unique approach to executive search has helped companies access top-tier talent.

He holds a B.Sc. in Materials Science from the University of Limerick and an Executive M.Sc in Change Leadership from the University of Oxford and HEC Paris. In his spare time, Dermot supports the Change Leaders, a global non-profit organisation dedicated to change management best practices.
